About ICSIF

The purpose of the Innocent Chukwuma Social Impact (ICSI) Chair is to design and deliver programmes and engagements that will facilitate the emergence and development of the next generations of young social impact pioneers and social justice leaders in Nigeria.

The ICSI Youth Fellowship Programme is the flagship initiative of the Chair which supports youths to catalyse systems and sectoral transitions in Nigeria through their social change initiatives in communities, social enterprises, nonprofit organisations, research, and influence on development policy implementation.

About The Pioneer

Innocent Chukwuma

ICSI Chair and Fellowship was set up in honour of the Late Mr Innocent Chukwuemeka Chukwuma. Innocent dedicated more than three decades of his life to fighting for marginalized people and building platforms for all voices to be heard. He created new organisations and initiatives for sustainable development, He led and built social justice platforms for creative support to the civic and development space across Africa.

Why do you need this fellowship?

ICSI Youth Fellowship Programme provides unique learning and community-building opportunities for young Nigerians working in the area of social justice and social impact. The fellowship engagements are built around three key disciplines:

  • Management Skills for Leading Social Innovation and Social Entrepreneurship 
  • Public Policy and Governance Issues in Criminal Justice Administration, Policing and Security Sector Reforms
  • Financial Sustainability of Social Impact through Impact Investing
