Chisom Clare Akwue
Vice President Girl Up Nigeria

Chisom Clare Akwue is a graduate of Nnamdi Azikiwe University Awka and is currently a student of the Nigerian Law School, Bagauda Campus, Kano State. She is a development program manager with about three years of experience in the nonprofit sector.

She has career interest at the intersection of law, socio-innovation and devel-opment, with a passion to provide technological solutions to social issues, particularly for women and young people. Her volunteer work on feminist advocacy cuts across education, economic empowerment, leadership/political participation and Sexual and Reproductive Health and Rights (S.R.H.R). She is an energetic program manager, experienced in creating and completing outreach programs in urban and rural communities.

She has volunteered with a couple of non-profit organizations for women and young people, and is currently a member of JCI Nigeria and YALI Anambra State. She is also an active member of Girl Up Nigeria, where she served as the 2021/2022 Project Management Officer and is currently the Vice President.

Her biggest goal in life is to create a safe space for women and girls to live and to thrive.
